The Alberta Land Titles Automation (ALTA) system was implemented in 1988, converting paper format into the electronic medium.

Alberta Land Titles offices do not offer private search services at its office locations to the general public.. Searches are conducted either online via its SPIN 2 web site, as listed on their respective web pages, through a Registry Agent or as a result of a registration.
